Since its foundation, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) has taken pride and responsibility in its efforts to adopt and promote a green campus and sustainable development to instil the concept of sustainability into its staff and students’ campus life and to ensure theirs and the environment’s wellbeing.
Professor Joshua Mok, an internationally renowned comparative policy research scholar, began his role at HSUHK as Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) in August 2024.
To meet diverse learning needs and inspire innovation in teaching and learning, HSUHK has inaugurated The Create at M+ Tower in the West Kowloon Cultural District as its new town centre.
HSUHK has received generous donations from Dr Yip Kit-chuen to support the University’s development. In recognition of Dr Yip’s commitment to HSUHK, an Appreciation and Naming Ceremony of Yip Kit Chuen and Yuen Yuk Hing Hall was held in October 2024.
HSUHK confers Honorary University Fellowships on five outstanding individuals to recognise their remarkable achievements in their professional fields, as well as their contributions to society and the University.
HSUHK has named Professor Sam Park and Professor Mark Shuttleworth as the Deans of the School of Business and the School of Translation and Foreign Languages, respectively.
HSUHK joined the Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities (AALAU) in January 2024, and hosted the AALAU Annual Presidents’ Forum 2024 in November.
HSUHK and the AS Watson Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2023 to support the academic and career development of HSUHK students, and the “1-Day Store Manager Experience Programme” is one of the initiatives.
Stepping into the new academic year, HSUHK welcomed some 1,900 new undergraduate students to the HSUHK family.
HSUHK’s School of Decision Sciences and Chef Digital Limited have achieved a milestone by developing Hong Kong’s first comprehensive intelligent exhibition management system, known as the “OPlusO Hub: Event Management in the Metaverse” (OPlusO Hub).
