New Chairman of the Board of Governors Ms Luanne Lim
Ms Luanne Lim was appointed as Chairman and Member of HSUHK’s Board of Governors, effective 7 January 2026, for a term of three years.
Ms Lim is currently the Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank. The University is confident that with her extensive expertise, wealth of experience and commitment to education, Ms Lim will provide strategic insight and leadership, propelling the University to new heights.
Ms Lim said she was greatly honoured to be appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors. “HSUHK’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and nurturing future leaders resonates strongly with me. I look forward to working closely with the Board, the University community, and our partners to further strengthen HSUHK’s position as a leading institution, and to empower our students to thrive in a rapidly changing world.”
The next President Professor Joshua Mok
HSUHK appointed Professor Joshua Mok as its next President, effective 1 September 2026, for a five-year term.
A highly respected scholar and educator in higher education policy, comparative social policy and institutional development, Professor Mok currently serves as Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) at HSUHK. Before joining HSUHK in June 2024, he held senior leadership roles as Vice-President at Lingnan University and Vice-President (Research and Development) at The Education University of Hong Kong.
The Board of Governors and the Council are impressed by Professor Joshua Mok’s strategic vision, leadership, and academic standing, as well as his commitment to positioning HSUHK as a leading private university in Asia. They are confident that his vision, expertise, and dedication will lead HSUHK to new heights of excellence.
Professor Mok is honoured to accept the new role. He said: “HSUHK stands as a leader in liberal arts education, dedicated to cultivating innovative and compassionate leaders for both our society and the global community. I am thrilled to assume the presidency and collaborate closely with members of the Board of Governors and the Council, students, faculty, alumni, and partners to strengthen the University’s academic and educational foundations, broaden its tradition of excellence, and make a meaningful impact through the creation of new knowledge and research.”
