HSUHK is increasing its partnerships regionally and globally. A delegation led by President Simon Ho visited the Dongguan University of Technology, Guangdong University of Science and Technology (GDUST), and EtonHouse (Laguna Verona) Foreign Language School Dongguan. During the visit to GDUST’s Songshan Campus, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to leverage the unique strengths of HSUHK and GDUST by exploring a variety of joint initiatives and nurturing talent in an era of technological innovation.
HSUHK and the Guangzhou Human Resources Market Service Centre signed an MoU, in which the scope of the cooperation includes establishing a liaison system, regularly organising joint campus recruitment activities, facilitating corporate visits in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, and creating an internship and employment base in Guangzhou specifically for HSUHK students.
The School of Decision Sciences signed a MoU with the School of Business and Zhuhai Research Institute of Hubei University in Wuhan. The two parties will strengthen cooperation in academic programmes, academic exchanges, student exchanges, and research to cultivate high-quality talent, and promote academic and research development.
The School of Communication held the 8th Business Journalism Awards to recognise outstanding journalists in business news, and their contributions to
society and the industry. The Award Presentation Ceremony was officiated by Professor Frederick Ma, former Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development and current Chairman of FWD Group.
With over 30 awards for business journalists, the Awards were divided into nine categories and covered various fields of business and financial news, including the newly added “Business ‘Environment, Social, and Governance’ News” Award.
HSUHK’s Centre for Management as a Liberal Art organised the “Managing for Social Impact” conference, which brought together top global business and academic leaders, including the “Father of Modern Marketing” Professor Philip Kotler; The Hon Bernard Chan, Chairman and President of Asia Financial Holdings Ltd; and President Simon Ho, to share their insights on the concepts and practices of human-centred management, integrated wealth creation, human fulfilments and social concerns. The speakers also addressed pressing issues such as the climate crisis, social inequality, ethical governance and additional sustainability concerns.
