Scholars recognised among World’s Top 2% Scientists

Proudly recognised for their groundbreaking research, seven distinguished scholars from HSUHK have been named in Stanford University’s “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list.

Debut in 2025 SCImago rankings

HSUHK has made a stellar debut in the 2025 SCImago Institutions Rankings, securing 2nd place among Hong Kong’s four self-financing universities and ninth among the city’s 12 universities overall. HSUHK leads self-financed universities in Business, Management and Accounting, Computer Science, and Environmental Science. These outstanding results highlight the University’s strategic focus on cutting-edge research addressing global and regional challenges — from sustainable development to digital innovation.

China’s top 35 universities in two major disciplines

HSUHK has been recognised in the 2025 Top Universities and Top Scientists Rankings conducted by international academic platform, Research.com. The University has been ranked 22nd in Social Sciences and Humanities, and 33rd in Economics and Finance among the top universities in China.

Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), has been ranked 33rd among the top Social Sciences and Humanities scientists in China; Professor David Tse in the Department of Marketing ranks 47th in Business and Management; and Professor Louis Cheng, Dr S H Ho Professor of Banking and Finance has been ranked 60th in Economics and Finance.

Asia’s first undergraduate programme endorsed by IIBA

The Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics and Information Management (BSc-BAIM) programme, offered by the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management at the School of Decision Sciences, has received official endorsement from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). It has become the first and only undergraduate programme in Asia to earn this prestigious recognition.

This landmark endorsement affirms the BSc-BAIM programme’s alignment with global business analysis standards, equipping students with industry-ready skills and a competitive edge in data-driven careers.

IACMR Conference Theme Best Paper Award

The research paper titled “Scaling Digital Firms in Emerging Markets: Digital Detachment and Internationalisation, co-authored by Professor Sam Park, Dean of the School of Business; Dr Li Qingwei, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management; and their counterpart at Nanyang Technological University, won the “Conference Theme Best Paper Award” at the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR) 2025 Conference.
