In the Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector (2025-26 Exercise) launched by the Research Grants Council, HSUHK secured a total funding of HK$12.67 million for 19 projects under the Faculty Development Scheme and the Inter-institutional Development Scheme (IIDS). Achieving an overall success rate of 34.6%, HSUHK solidified its position as the most competitive institution among the self-financed universities in Hong Kong. Particularly impressive, is HSUHK’s 66.7% success rate in the IIDS, which is the highest in the respective sector, alongside the largest funding allocation in this category.

HSUHK’s faculty continues to demonstrate excellence in research performance. Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Dr Victor Chan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Science, secured a total of HK$1 million in funding under the HKSAR Government’s Public Policy Research Funding Scheme.

Meanwhile, a new project titled “RISE Beyond Boundaries: A Holistic Support Programme for Non-local Students in Transition and Growth”, proposed by Dr Cheung Pui-sze, Director of Student Affairs, was approved by the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme of the Education Bureau (2024-25) with a grant exceeding HK$2 million.
