In summer 2025, 12 students from the Department of Art and Design participated in a transformative summer internship at Hong Kong House, part of the prestigious Echigo-Tsumari Art Field 2025 The Whispers of Stone, held in Japan’s Niigata Prefecture.

Alyria Leung, a student from the BA (Hons) in Art and Design programme, along with Owen Luk and Icey Shek from the BA (Hons) in Cultural and Creative Industries programme, shared that the internship provided them with a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in an outdoor art festival, a format less common in Hong Kong. The experience enriched their knowledge of art events and exhibition planning.
