HSUHK has received a generous donation of HK$5 million from Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association to strengthen its Strategic Campus Development Fund. In recognition of the Association’s commitment, the University has named the multipurpose hall at Lo Hui Kit San Building as Tsimshatsui Kaifong Association Academic Hall, and held an appreciation and naming ceremony in April 2025.

Officiating guests included Mr So Chung-ping, Chairman of Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association; Mr Lam Cho-kwong, Chairman of Supervisory Committee of Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association; Dr Patrick Poon, Governor and Chairman of the Fundraising and Donation Committee, HSUHK; and President Simon Ho.

The Tsimshatsui Kaifong Association Academic Hall is a versatile venue designed for academic seminars, cultural events, and lectures, providing students with a dynamic platform for learning and engagement.

Since 2020, the Association has provided HSUHK students with scholarships and bursaries, benefiting countless students.
