The HSUHK Library has received a generous donation of over 1,200 rare books from Professor John Strickland, former Chairman of Hongkong Bank. At the book donation ceremony held in April 2025, Professor Strickland was invited to share insights into his lifelong passion for travel and exploration.

The donated collection comprised 19th century travel literature focused on Central Asia. Three of these books, published over 200 years ago, bear witness to East-West cultural interactions and hold significant academic and cultural value.
