HSUHK has named Professor Sam Park and Professor Mark Shuttleworth as the Deans of the School of Business and the School of Translation and Foreign Languages, respectively.

A renowned scholar with distinguished academic achievements, Professor Sam Park was the President’s Chair and Professor in Strategy and International Business at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as well as Dean of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University, USA. He is internationally recognised as an outstanding scholar for making significant contributions to bridging research, practice, and policy communities, particularly in emerging markets. Professor Park’s research has been published in world leading management journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Management Sciences, Journal of International Business Studies, etc. He was included in Standford’s list of the world’s top 2% most cited scholars in business and management in 2020.

Professor Mark Shuttleworth has extensive education and research experience. He was the Head and Professor of the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University. He also held various academic positions at renowned institutions such as University College London, Imperial College London, and University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. Professor Shuttleworth has made significant contributions to research in translation technology pedagogy, Wikipedia translation, and metaphors in translation. He is best known for his Dictionary of Translation Studies and has published a total of four books and special issues. His work has been published in various prestigious journals. Recently he has been looking for ways to incorporate identifiable focuses in translation technology, intercultural and minority studies, and non-Chinese non-English languages within the undergraduate curriculum.
