From the Competitive Research Funding Scheme for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector (2024-25 Exercise) launched by the Research Grants Council, HSUHK secured a total funding of HK$10.38 million for 18 projects under the Faculty Development Scheme (FDS) and the Inter-institutional Development Scheme.
HSUHK’s success rate in FDS is 36.36% in comparison with 26.97% across the sector, which is also the highest among the four eligible self-financed universities. In the current exercise, HSUHK performed particularly well in Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Physical Sciences, with a success rate of 40% or above in the three panels.
Additionally, a new project titled “Incorporating Student-Centred Learning (SCL) in the Common Core Curriculum of HSUHK”, proposed by the Common Core Curriculum Office, was approved by the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) of the Education Bureau in its 12th round of applications (2023-2024) with a grant of over HK$2.38 million.
